It's been much too long since I last posted. But, I promise there is a good excuse!
This month (which is only half over), I have been through 9 time zones, on 7 planes, and 2 trains. I literally traveled half way across the world and back, jamming in many picture filled events! Here is a snapshot of all the pictures you have to look forward to seeing!
Our month started in our own neighborhood with the biggest barbecue of the year (and the cutest kids).
Then we boarded a plane (Brad's first transatlantic) to Russia. It was the trip of a lifetime. In fact, if you had asked me anytime over the last five years "where is the one place you would want to go?" my first response would have been Russia. That is probably not the response most people would give, but I took a Russian history class in college, and I was hooked. Seriously, every other country's story is boring compared to Russia. I will prove it in a later post. But, for now, just know that Brad is a convert, and he hates history.
We spent most our time in Moscow.
Honestly, how beautiful is this?:
But the real reason we were in Russia was for Ana and James' wedding celebration.
Don't they look lovely?! Especially since we were taking pictures at 11pm in the hotel without air conditioning. Russia? Air conditioning? Yes. Moscow was in the 90s all week. It was needed. And they still rocked it.
We then took the train up to St. Petersburg to tour for two days. Both cities are gorgeous, but this one is over the top with its palaces. More of that when you see Peter the Great's house (it's the Russian Versailles).
Turns out, St. Petersburg is made up of 42 islands. There are canals and rivers everywhere. It is often compared to Venice. Guess what? This place is better. Oh, and they have gondolas too if you have to do that. There are normal boats too though.
We loved Russia, but we couldn't stay too long. We had to fly back home so we could get to Dayton, Ohio for Abby and Brian's wedding! Gorgeous couple, gorgeous church, perfect details... what more could you want from a wedding!?
See, there are just so many posts to look forward to!
